Heilman Pastel Box® - Backpack Box

    Sharing an appreciation for nature, life and making fine art and photography has brought many rewards. These experiences brought about the wonderful Heilman® Pastel Boxes that are enjoyed all around the world. John’s gift of creativity in fine woodworking coupled with his love of precise engineering and tenacity for quality and good function has made the process of making art easier for artists of every level and discipline. As an artist working in studio, workshop and en-plein air I experienced and took careful note of challenges encountered by myself and fellow artists. » A size for every need, made of the finest hardwood, fitted with reliable custom handmade hardware designed for best application. All Pastel Boxes are fitted with a superior, durable "Support Foam" which softly conforms to each pastel stabilizing and protecting each piece.
	« Pastel Boxes open like a book and latches secure them to a rigid open tray that sits on table, stand or in your lap. Pastels on both sides assure good capacity. Pastel Boxes are drilled for use with the Heilman® easels which come in 18" and 24" heights.
» Another example of the variety of use the Heilman Pastel Boxes provide is in the use of the new "Pan Pastels". The pans can be stored without their lids as shown and are ready for use as soon as the Pastel Box lid is removed. All contents are kept stable when transported when Pastel Box is closed. The depth of the Pastel Box will also accommodate a second layer of pan pastels.
	« Full-length piano hinges, together with special corner joinery combine for unmatched strength and durability.
» A special "Support Foam" top and bottom conforms, protects and helps keep your pastels clean. This special "Support Foam" is very resilient and dense. It can be washed with ordinary dish washing soap and put onto a wire rack to air dry. Heat is not a friend to this foam nor is corn meal. Some pastels are very staining and so some color may remain in the foam but it cleans very well.
	« Elegant joinery with amazing durability combined with stout shoulder strap loops. Shoulder strap included with all Pastel Boxes.
» Sturdy turn-keys secure lids and remain positioned when Pastel Box encounters vibration or rough travel.
	« Quality grade lockable spring latches keeps Pastel Box secure from children or unwanted entry.
» Sturdy side latches lock Pastel Box to a rigid open position.
	« All Pastel Boxes are fitted with a standard tripod coupler which is embedded and glued for strength and stability.
»Tripod coupler is glued and counter sunk into Pastel Box frame; leveling plate is glued to allow fit for tripod quick release.
