Small town simplicity and charm drew me to paint this painting. I put it in a generous friendly light while my mind remembers soft summer days with the smell of chicken frying and the "Hartz Mountain Bird" radio show with the sound of birds set together with Straus waltzes coming through open windows. This little house still stands and it waits for me to paint it in evening light with the warm glow of lamplight in the windows and children coming home for supper. I think Thomas Kincade beat me to that one.
