05012 "Patrick’s Point" 16x30
Patrick’s Point is a beautiful coastal area with rich Native American history. I started this painting on location and my sketches recorded the different compositions that illustrated stories of whale sightings from a rock formation that jutted 50 feet from the ground of one meadow, sweat lodges and story pits that resided in another and brilliant wild flowers that shimmered orange and salmon midst the tall meadow grasses. The cool palette of color in the painting describes the quiet, soft misty quality of this area.
