This is the grandest sight by far on a warm June day. I visited this field after I had experience the lavender fields of France and for a split second it was "de ja vue" as I crested the hill and saw a tile roofed building and saw the lavender fields spilling beyond. The aroma was profound and the flower heads loaded with pungent oil swayed in the breeze and caught the sun’s rays. Then like thunder came the power and shape of the mountain and stopped me in my tracks. How does one begin to capture an experience like this... this painting is my humble effort.
