Point Lobos grabbed me in the early morning and I emerged from the car with adrenalin pumping. The atmosphere was damp and fresh; the mists were shushing across distant hills and spilling meadows. My mind was frantic to decide on composition, color mixes as it was bombarded with the reality of the beauty of these moments. I hurried to do a plein-air study and back in the studio I stretched my wings to remember it all and render it in this painting.
