Art has been important to me since childhood.  Living in Northern California  provides wonderful artistic opportunities.

     Working in several medias allows a 

style that has been described by viewers

and clients as vivid, colorful and somewhat

impressionistic. 

     Enthusiasm and passion for the subject is a key element in my painting.

John H. Heilman

     Having enjoyed photography all his life, John Heilman has recently begun to explore this medium more fully and to utilize some of the tools and techniques that make photography such an exciting art form today.
      "Attention to precision, quality of image and creative application" are uppermost in his mind as he explores a wide range of subjects. "I strive to render the ordinary in a new way."             

     From the tiny seed pods that lay humbly in our paths he brings exciting images  and designs to full view.  The excitement he finds in the abstractions of nature and man-made objects culminate in  striking compositions that captivate viewers, igniting  their curiosity and exploration.
    His works are in private collections throughout the country and he has achieved Best of Show, First and Second awards in juried exhibits throughout California.
